This Electrical Engineer
will lead our client’s proprietary Solar Grid Tie Inverter technology
development and transition from R&D to delivery of commercially-viable,
utility-grade products to the marketplace. Reporting directly to
client’s CEO & General Manager, the individual will have the
responsibility for building and leading the technical team responsible
for design, development and commercialization of the Lingqi solar grid
tie inverter and follow-on products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
¬
Leadership
of our client’s engineering and R&D efforts in the U.S. and China and
subsequently establish an R&D and sales operation in the U.S.
¬
Identification, prioritization and scheduling of engineering design
initiatives
¬
Documentation, assignment and tracking of engineering assignments
through completion
¬
Proven
capability to lead and solve engineering problems
¬
Ability to
lead implementation of systems engineering practices
¬
Ability to
work with R&D teams across the globe and with various cultures
¬
Ability to
spend a significant amount of time in China working with our client’s
China group
¬
Ability to
lead a multi-cultural team
¬
Creation
of engineering requirements for components through integrated systems
¬
Responsibility for overall state of completion of system’s engineering
drawings, specifications, and users’ manuals
¬
Ability to
drive collaboration with operations/production, quality and finance
departments to achieve the lowest-cost, reliable solution(s) that meet
the customers’ needs
¬
Assistance
in marketing with customer support as required
¬
Management
of the multitude of product certifications required in a global market
Education, Competencies, Qualifications & Salary
¬
M.S. in
Electrical Engineering with DSP programming capability
¬
A minimum
of 10 years progressive engineering and management experience in a
multinational environment, preferably within the solar energy industry
¬
Ability to
effectively lead technical/engineering/R&D teams in the U.S, China or
other global markets
¬
Demonstrated successful track record of bringing complex
electro-mechanical systems from prototype to market
¬
Excellent
communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate
objectives and project status to engineering teams, senior management,
board of directors and customers
¬
Ability to
transition effectively from technical teams to business development
environments
¬
This
Electrical Engineer/R&D professional will be headquartered in the U.S.
with ability to travel as needed to key international markets
¬
This
Electrical Engineer/R&D professional could be a retired executive from
one of our client’s competitors
¬
Given the
current market, anticipate a base annual salary of approximately
$120,000
